One theory some friends and I have discussed recently is that rethugnantcans in general are not much concerned with things environmental because the fundamentals among them believe that the return of Christ is imminent and with it the end of the earth or at least the end of the use the faithful have for the earth. Ignore if you will, the idiocy of an alleged biblical fundamentalist predicting the return of Christ, ("But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." Matthew 24:36 (KJV)) and consider what you might do, or not do, if you thought the world was coming to an end, regardless of your belief structure. Would you be concerned with an estate tax? I think not. You would not care what happened to your "wealth" after the return of Christ, if that fits your belief structure or, care what happened to your physical wealth when the world was destroyed. Either way, the "death tax" would simply not be an issue for you. Would you spend the last days of the world trying to amass more physical wealth? Not unless you were stupid, psychotic or some combination of the two.
Either this theory is waaaay off base or, we have a case of an entire movement saying one thing while believing something entirely different, a mass hedging of one's bets, if you will. Obviously, not a behavior rooted in faith.
Something is clearly wrong in any case. It would appear the the sheeple of the reich-wing are being purposely mislead but for the life of me, I can't figure out the final purpose. It appears to go past wealth and simple power. It is almost as though someone wants to completely stifle our technological growth, perhaps to trap us on this planet and prevent our spread into space, perhaps some other purpose. I suppose I shall have to think on it some more.

Yea, I know it reads kind of tin-foil-hatish but in the absense of other reasons, it is as believable (to me) as any other I come up with. Perhaps rather than completely stifling the growth, they merely wish to direct it. Maybe this is all coincidental and they really are all stupid and psychotic. I don't know. Feel free to "illuminate" me.

My history knowledge is very rusty, but couldn't it be argued that the christians already destroyed one empire? I don't know if I'm for or against that happening again.

Tying the estate tax to the rapture is brilliant.
Simply brilliant.

Could it be that they are true fundies:
"Many fundamentalist and evangelical Christian groups, especially those who follow a dispensationalist theology, believe that the Jewish people will build the Third Temple shortly before, or perhaps after, "true" Christians have been raptured, and just before the introduction of a popularly accepted messiah-figure. However, according to this view, this messiah-figure would not be a true messiah but rather what Christians call the Antichrist."
Maybe they are preparing to rule the world and rebuild the temple of solomon.....
Conspiricy, Maybe maybe not....
Read the PNAC web site and it will scare the hell out of you. They do not care about this country or the planet as long as the leadership is devoted to promoting christianity world wide.
Now what I do not know is weather the religious right hijacked the republicans or the other way around,,,,any comments on that?
Thanks Great site
I'll be back for more
