A few days ago I heard a John Kerry quote that indicated he would be running for president again next time around.
I got some bad news for John. It is too late for him to start running for the 2008 election. Yep, you saw it here first. It's too damn late! To prove to me, and liberally inclined individuals like me, that he was serious about getting the office and up for the fight it takes, JFK needed to not concede until every damn vote had been counted. TWICE! We had already seen what happened when a democrat tried the honorable, what's-best-for-the-nation route. He and we got screwed.
I suggest that for many of us, a commitment to no holds barred, dirt in the eye, knee to the groin, fight to the last breath, will be required before we give our support to a candidate. We will at least have to believe that about him or her even if they do not specifically state it.
Me, I'm back on the Wesley Clark bandwagon. John F. Kerry just doesn't want it badly enough to actually win. If he did, I'd be talking about President Kerry now.
CAFKIA
wesley clark looked good to me, and at a time of war, amilitary man makes a good (mraning a possible winner) candidate.

Clark doesn't do it for me as a presidential candidate.
We need somebody who will kick ass and take names regardless of military service record, which I think is way overrated. Just look at Reagan, Clinton and Dubya.
Democrats lose not because they ARE weak, but because they SEEM weak.
Whoever it is will probably be running against Giuliani. That's my prediction.
Brian Schweitzer likes guns, scotch and ranching. He's a deep red state governor that I think would connect to a lot of people in the South and West. Apparently has lots of charisma too. He's my early pick for the dems.
However, despite all of the Hillary bashing, it is NOT inconceivable that she could win against certain GOP candidates. She's more of an ass kicker than Kerry, and she doesn't have any skeletons that haven't been dragged out of the closet, set on fire and danced around by the conservative punditocracy. I think she'd beat Frist with room to spare. Not so sure about Romney, Allen, Rudy or the other GOP hopefuls. In any event, if she actually did run, that would mean she thought she had a chance, and she's not stupid politically.
I really hope the GOP runs Frist or Jeb.

Rudy shares a lot of skeletons with Bernie Kerik. I don't think he wants to go through the 'discovery process'.
I'm with the squid. Wes Clark looks the best to me in '08, as of this posting anyway.
