This fly from the family syrphidae was doing a helluva a job impersonating a bumblebee in Prospect Park. No arrests were made, however. I'm still awaiting an identification from BugGuide.Net, but I'm guessing it's either from the genus Merodon or Mallota.

Thats why I was always a big fan of when Rudy was bombing us out with the chemicals, on account of the west niles virus in the bugs that you see around Brooklyn. Now they all come back and Im scared again, especially around the kids with no chemical coverage. They should dust them helicopters off, and start it all up again in the fight against these mean type bugs so we all win.
