Last may, I introduced the isopod, a portable, invertebrate personal entertaiment system that could be easily stashed under a rock or in a piece of decaying wood. While initial interest was encouraging, there weren't enough orders to implement full scale production, so the bank was unwilling to loan me much needed start-up cash.
Since this opportunity crawled away from me, I've decided to experiment with podcasting. A move that is likely to prove equally fruitless given my total lack of taste in music, and my utter absence of competence in using sound editing software.
Still, when has a dearth of knowledge or skill ever stopped me before? This is America dammit.
If you want to hear some truly excellent podcasts, stop by A Brooklyn Life and check out the sumptious playlists put together by their skilled cadre of casters.
On the other hand, if you want to hear a discombobulated pastiche of tracks that have no apparent unifying theme, then feel free to download my test podcast and witness the resulting audio train wreck. It's just what you'd expect from someone who takes pictures of dancing ducks. If you do decide to download it, please right-click and save it to your hard-drive rather than stream it.
The tracks are listed below. This mix has no official title. However, stop by later this week for my next offering in honor of the diverse groups that comprise Park Slope's rich community tapestry - "Yuppies vs. Grups vs. Hipsters vs. Hippies: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Embrace Gentrification."
PARENTAL ADVISORY: Some of these songs contain lame lyrics and hackneyed arrangements that could permanently damage your child's sense of "cool." The "Tennessee Birdwalk", in particular, is a known earworm, and has been shown to lead to insanity in 7% of listeners. Also, the f-word is used a few times.
