I don't know if his intent was to thwart evil, but I watched a guy dump a garbage bag full of rye bread into Prospect Lake yesterday. The resulting melee was a sight to behold. It was a riot of epic proportions; anatine, anserine, larine and cygnine - to say nothing of the coot.
