Holiday Invertebrate Blogging: Clement Moore Edition

See the Friday Ark for more holiday critters (including some with warm blood and fur).

T'was three days before Christmas,
Under leaf, rock or log,
Not a bug could be found to post on my blog.
Flypaper was hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that invertebrates  soon would stick there.

But alas no spider,  mite,  roach or flea,
Could be found on the glue strip, it wasn't to be.
So I searched my hard drive, for a photo from yore,
One that I had never posted before.

And what with my wond'ring eyes had I seen?
But a fur covered moth, holding fast to a screen.
His feelers how feathered, his appendages furry,
I think I should stop this bad rhyme in a hurry.

Happy Holidays from the Order Lepidoptera.

If you kind of squint, you could say the moth sort of looks like he's wearing a Santa Claus suit. Kind of. Well, at least he has white fur....

Nice poem, by the way.
