So went the frenzied chant emanating from Battery Park yesterday evening, where the Axis of Eve were protesting the policies of our current Commander in Chief. Jessamy and I were fortunate enough to witness this splendid example of political speech (yes, she is the one who alerted me and asked me to bring my camera – what a woman!). I thought I would, um, brief you on the incident.

The first thing Jessamy noticed was how well, um, covered this event was. There were almost as many photographers and videographers as there were protestors. Curiously, most of them were male. Even more curious was the fact that the majority of them did not have press credentials. Odd.

The slogans were quaint, but effective. Including:
Fire Bush!
Cream Bush
Ballot Box
My Cherry for Kerry
Give Bush the finger
Lick Bush
Expose Bush
Weapons of Mass Seduction
My bush would make a better president

I caught up with a young man who was just donning his jeans (sorry folks, I wasn’t quick enough to snap a photo). I asked if there were briefs that said “My dick would make a better Vice President.” He said if there wasn’t, there ought to be. Good to see our youth committed to the cause.

The whole thing petered out after about an hour, but everyone left the park energized and with a big smile on their face. You could say they were “in the pink.”
